Trème Fraîche: The microglial TREM2 immune receptor and AD

TREM2 is a microglial immune receptor involved in microglial activation and response to various stimuli. Work from our group has shown that Trem2 mediates microglial activation in response to Abeta, and can suppress tau dispersion through exosomal pathways. Ongoing work will help determine whether Alzheimer's-associated TREM2 variants are loss or gain-of-function, and distinguish differences in TREM2 function in human and mouse microglia.
